The FIRE EXPRESS S concept GG FW is a fairway wood-specific shaft developed by re-evaluating conventional wisdom, designed for golfers with a head speed of 40m/s or less, who make up the majority of golfers.
Generally, shafts for golfers with slower head speeds often prioritize ease of gripping and high trajectory. As a result, it is not uncommon for golfers to suffer from hooks, ballooning shots, and loss of distance.
The GG FW directly addresses these issues by adopting a design that suppresses tip action while still being a "run-type" shaft. By preventing excessive face turn during impact and making it easier for the clubface to enter squarely, both directionality and consistency are significantly improved.
Its mid-trajectory design provides a good balance of carry and roll, ensuring solid roll with a powerful landing angle. It achieves the high-level performance of "stable, forward distance" required in fairway woods.
Furthermore, because the ball naturally gains height without having to force it up, the sweet spot hit rate improves, contributing to increased initial velocity. It also pairs well with high-COR heads, making it recommended for golfers who want to maximize their distance performance.
