Fujikura's Speeder SLK is an innovative product designed to maximize the benefits of shortening golf shafts. While shortening the shaft significantly improves striking accuracy and straightness, it also introduces drawbacks such as changes in swing feel, increased shaft stiffness, and difficulty in launching the ball. The Speeder SLK utilizes the latest technology to overcome these disadvantages.
First, by adopting Metal Composite Technology (MCT), which combines carbon and metal, it achieves a club balance typical for standard head weights (around 200g). This allows for a consistent swing feel even with a shorter shaft, making it possible to achieve a tip-heavy balance without increasing tip rigidity.
Furthermore, by utilizing multi-hoop ply layering technology, multiple hoop layers are laminated in the butt section to make it easier to feel the shaft's movement. This allows for a responsive tip without feeling stiff. Additionally, the high-torque design ensures the torque is not overly tight, contributing to good ball capture.
To counteract the reduction in launch height and clubhead speed caused by shortening the shaft, the oscillation frequency is set to be softer. This enables high trajectories and stable shots. Moreover, the increased diameter of the grip section prevents excessive force in the right hand, providing a natural swing feel.
The Speeder SLK is a golf shaft designed to maintain the light swing feel of the Speeder series while maximizing the benefits of a shorter shaft.
